Joshua Daniel Ryan, known as "Josh", "JD" or "Ryan" to his buddies, was born and raised in Chatham, New Jersey-- the son of a factory worker father and a legal secretary mother. While his family story was nothing really special, he had a great childhood and two exceptionally loving parents who gave him everything they could. JD was a late in life baby, born when his mother was 35, and he was the only son of the proud parents. Josh was taught responsibility, good manners and humility from a very early age, and his outgoing, hilarious personality, athletic talent and darkly good looks made him quite popular all through school. He was extremely athletic-- captain of the football and basketball teams in high school, playing lacrosse on the side. He even got a scholarship to a prestigious Upper East Side New York private school, The Waldorf School, for sports. So when he got a football scholarship to Hampton University, no one was really surprised. While Mr. Popularity wasn't a genius by any stretch of the imagination, he was passably intelligent and pulled B's and C's in high school, focusing more on sports as most jocks were wont to do. But while Josh was all B's and C's when it came to book knowledge, if there was a course in Street Smarts he'd have gotten straight A's. Josh hadn't won his popularity at school because he was handsome, athletic and fun to be around. He was all of those things. But what Josh was most-- was a loyal friend. He'd break his back for his close buddies, and while he was selective in his group of friends, he knew everybody, and everyone liked him. Josh was just a good guy. Sure, he drank a little, partied a lot, belched occasionally, was hooked on sports and loved women, but there was more to him than what met the eye. Ironically enough, his girlfriend his senior year of school (and his freshman year of college) was one of the most beautiful and popular girls around-- and her name was JD. They caught a little bit of hell for it, but in reality, Josh and Jordyn were the dream couple; the power couple. The ones everyone envied. That is, until their breakup Josh's freshman year of college. Hey, what do you want him to say? Going off to college and maintaining a relationship with a girl who was a year behind you was a little more difficult than it sounded. After High School, Josh went on to Hampton University, where he immediately majored in Sports Medicine. He joined a fraternity, did some partying, and generally had a great time. He was really enjoying being Big Man on Campus-- that is, until Jordyn Teague showed up on campus his sophomore year. In reality, Josh had cheated on her. Well, that's what he thought, anyway. He got bombed drunk after an initiation party at the fraternity house, and had woken up in bed wearing his boxers with a naked girl curled up against him. While he didn't remember doing anything with her, he couldn't be sure-- and when he asked her, she just smirked, put her clothes on and disappeared. Telling Jordyn sucked in a major way. He's got his grades in order, is in a great fraternity and is starting QB of the football team since the last quarterback graduated last Spring, but Jordyn... she's a distraction. To say the least.
